Crown Range View

Crown Range View, Queenstown. A home where the boundary between interior and landscape dissolves, where the valley floor stretches out below and the mountains become not a backdrop, but a presence felt in every room.

Designed by Condon Scott Architects, this alpine retreat is rooted in the geology and character of Gibbston Valley. Schist stone and cedar form the bones of the building, materials drawn from the land itself, aged and weathered and entirely at home against the surrounding terrain.

Outside, the Ariki Lounge Set by Cove Outdoor and the Nomad Easy Chair by Tribu settle naturally against the rugged stone terracing, their warm forms and considered proportions softening the rawness of the landscape without competing with it. These are pieces designed for long afternoons and unhurried evenings, for watching the light shift across the Crown Range as the day winds down.

Inside and out, Space Studio has curated an interior palette of natural timber, woven finishes and deep earthy tones that move in quiet conversation with the world beyond the glass. Nothing here feels incidental. Every material, every surface, every piece of furniture has been chosen to reinforce the same idea, that the most considered homes are the ones that know where they belong.
